Hello, Reggie Bush!
Just when we thought Deuce McAllister’s return to the Saints offense could cost Bush some value, he went off on Monday Night Football. Bush returned two Vikings punts for touchdowns. He caught seven passes for 64 yards. He rushed for just 29 yards and lost two fumbles (one after getting his facemask yanked), but his overall performance against Minnesota was stunning. Now THIS is the kid that has fascinated fantasy GMs since he entered the league.

Wow, that was an interesting week in fantasy football. Several of the running backs picked high finally got busy and put up their expected numbers. Brett Favre caught fire and made Laveranues Coles a hero. Carson Palmer sat out with a sore elbow. Aaron Rodgers suffered a shoulder injury. Anquan Boldin got knocked into La-La Land.

Week 3 offered another round of statistical extremes for fantasy football general managers. Some superstars starred and others stunk horribly.
Good: If you had Miami running back Ronnie Brown, you celebrated his passing touchdowns (!) and his four rushing touchdowns. The Dolphins used Brown in a direct-snap package that left the Patriots befuddled. Their offense looked like something Ricky Williams might have dreamt up during his Cheech and Chong Period.

Rams running back Steven Jackson has to pick up his production and he is not alone. Fantasy football general managers are lamenting the mediocre statistical production of several backs this season. After two weeks, you have to wonder how many elite producers we will see at that position during the 2008 NFL season, Jackson has carried the ball 27 times for 93 yards and zero touchdowns. His troubles started during the preseason, when he sat out training camp while his agent negotiated a contract extension for him. He returned late in the preseason, but did not see action in exhibition play.
