February 4th (Miami, FL) - Winning the World Championship of Fantasy Football means you have beaten the best of the best in fantasy sports. It means you'll take home a check for $300,000. It also provides you a few other perks that accompany being the best in the world.
One of those perks is the opportunity to receive the $300,000 check from ESPN's, Suzy Kolber on the set of Sportscenter at Super Bowl XLIV. Jason Conn, Ed Oszterling and Craig Gillette were accompanied by WCOFF Commissioner Dustin Ashby to the set of Sportscenter where host Steve Levy, Donovan McNabb and Steve Young welcomed the 2009 World Champions. "Suzy Kolber is an amazing host and really created a memorable experience for the 2009 champions," said Ashby. "Team Shocker was able to watch Sportscenter on the set while Suzy gave us an inside perspective of what was going on as the show was being produced".
It's been a memorable weekend all around for the 2009 World Champions. The trio of Conn, Oszterling and Gillette made their way along South Beach after receiving the $300,000 check to only run into Reggie Bush, Maurice Jones-Drew, Eddie George and others from the world of the NFL and Entertainment.
And the weekend is just getting started as Team Shocker will make an appearance on Radio Row at the Super Bowl XLIV Media Center on Friday afternoon giving interviews to the top radio markets throughout the country.

The trend in the NFL that is proving to be a very logical one is that teams are moving to a two running back backfield, giving them more flexibility and a higher likelihood that their skill players will remain healthy. It is a sound strategy – but one that really hurts fantasy owners.

An interesting trend in fantasy football is that in this day and age of information – columns like this one, twitter, website updates, etc – way too many people rely on fantasy magazines come draft day. As someone who writes for such magazines, I am certainly not going to say that they do not have value. Of course they do – they are the backbone of your draft day preparation. However, you cannot simply work off the list in your favorite draft magazine and take it as gospel.

The big debate when it comes to wide receivers is where exactly do you take them? Many believe that if you are sitting in the pick six to eight range that you should target Houston's Andre Johnson. Others believe that if you pick a wide receiver before pick ten then you are destined for failure. I do not share that viewpoint. In my mind, with so many running back by committee situations in the NFL, I feel that a stud number one wide receiver is far better than the seventh or eighth ranked running back.
